Originally from Hartford, Connecticut, Jack is a U.K.-educated academic with a background in journalism and theatre.
Jack recently received his DPhil in History at the University of Oxford, where he taught modern history and assisted with Oxford admissions alongside completing his thesis on French, British, and American fighter pilots in the First World War. Moving from the United States in 2010, Jack completed all of his higher education in the U.K., earning a BA in History from Royal Holloway University of London and an MPhil in Modern British & European History from Oxford. He is also a classically trained actor on both sides of the pond, training and working at Shakespeare & Company in Lenox, Massachusetts and the British American Drama Academy, and worked in breaking news journalism from 2013 to 2018.
Jack has extensive experience teaching and mentoring students from diverse international backgrounds, from private school students in Southeast Asia to Americans studying abroad in the U.K. As an expat and former international student himself, he is passionate about making British higher education – especially the prestigious, sometimes complex Oxbridge system – accessible and navigable to all. He offers RNG students and their families personalized insight into the British education system and application process, opening students up to an exciting international option.
