What inspires me? Working with students who are looking to the future with hope, optimism, and are willing to accept guidance fills my cup! I find joy in getting to know them, hearing about their vision, and then working as a team to help those dreams come true.
I founded RNG International Educational Consultants, LLC in 2007, knowing that domestic, international, and expat students are all in need of a trusted adult with several decades of experience who can give them sound advice and honest feedback. Since then, I have worked with hundreds of students across the United States and around the world.
I also firmly believe that the best consultants are those who engage in constant professional development, travel frequently to visit boarding schools, colleges and universities, and maintain their memberships in selective professional associations. In the years I have been doing this, I have visited hundreds of schools and universities throughout the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe. That means that I can speak with firsthand knowledge of these institutions to help students and parents understand what makes each one unique and a possible good fit.
Parents often ask about where my students apply. The answer is I encourage them to apply to boarding schools and colleges that are the right fit for their wants and needs, whether that be in the US or abroad.
On a personal note, I raised three children while moving internationally, so as a family we’ve also experienced the joys and challenges of cross-cultural transitions. The people I meet and places I’ve seen continue to inspire me. Today, I still love to travel, especially to Italy. Fun fact: I have collected tableware from all over the world and actually enjoy using it when inviting friends and family for a meal. And now even my 2-year-old granddaughter loves to play with my pretty dishes and help me cook!
