At the recent Independent Educational Consultants Association (IECA) conference in Austin, Texas, Michelle Grappo and Rebecca (Becky) Grappo both took on new leadership roles in their professional organization of IECA.

Michelle took the helm of the Therapeutic Committee as Chair after serving for two years as vice-chair. This committee seeks to advance the collaboration between consultants and therapeutic programs, discuss ways to improve relationships and treatment outcomes, and educate other consultants as well as the general public about therapeutic placements, etc. The Therapeutic Committee takes the lead on setting the agenda and with Michelle at the helm, we will see many more initiatives!

Rebecca Grappo, or Becky as many people know her, was elected to the IECA Board of Directors as a General Delegate. She will be bringing her years of experience serving the organization in multiple volunteer roles to the board, including the Membership Committee. Past positions that she has held in IECA include Schools Committee chair and vice-chair, Global Consulting Chair and vice-chair, International Taskforce chair, and member of the Education and Training committee, and member of the Nominating Committee.

Both Michelle and Becky realize the importance of not only belonging to, but contributing to the professional growth of IECA and its members. It is an honor and a privilege to be selected by peers to serve.
